We have four of the top five New York Times fiction bestsellers including Eruption by Michael Crichton and James Patterson, The Women by Kristin Hannah, Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand, and Middle of the Night by Riley Sager. These titles all have significant wait lists, but we can add you to the list and recommend other titles while you wait.

If you are looking for titles about women’s experience in Vietnam during the war try Sisterhood of War: Minnesota women in Vietnam by Kim Heikkila or try Bronze Drum by Phong Nguyen for the Vietnamese viewpoint of women in the war.

Additional psychological fiction set in Hawaii like Eruption include Swimsuit by Maxine Paetro and James Patterson, Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs or At First Sight by Stephen J. Cannell. Titles set in Hawaii that deal more with the military aspects include The Codebreaker’s Secret  or Island of Sweet Pies and Soldiers  both by Sara Ackerman.

Swan Song is the fourth book in the Nantucket series with the first three being A Summer Affair, The Castaways and The Perfect Couple. She has set many other titles on Nantucket Island including The Beach Club and The Matchmaker. If you enjoy the island setting try The Island House or Summer House by Nancy Thayer, True Love or Ever After by Jude Devereaux or Love Anthony by Lisa Genova.

If you like psychological thrillers that verge on horror, which seems to be a specialty of Riley Sager then try his other titles Final Girls, The Last Time I Lied, Home Before Dark, The House Across the Lake  and The Only One Left. Other authors to consider include Megan Miranda with Daughter of Mine, The Only Survivors or The Last to Vanish. Val McDermid with Broken Ground, Still Life or Past Lying.

If you like books about books then try Susan Mallery’s newest The Summer Book Club where the rules are simple – no sad books, no pressure and plenty of wine. Sheila Roberts The Best Life Book Club also fits that bill and what could be better than The Book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan. And of course Jenny Colgan’s The Bookshop on the Corner and The Bookshop on the Shore are a must. Include historical fiction in the list and The Air Raid Book Club by Annie Lyons, The Keeper of Hidden Books by Madeline Martin and The Blackout Book Club by Amy Lynn Green all need to be on the list. A list of books about books, bookstores and libraries would be very long, so I’ll stop here for the week. If you want more titles, stop in and see me.
